Sogeri Town Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Bisiatabu District of the Central Papua Conference (CPC) officially opened its first pastor’s house on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Held under the theme “It Was All the Lord’s Doing,” the dedication brought together church members, local leaders, pastors, invited guests, and community members to celebrate the completion of the new building.

The project was described as a significant milestone for the church, demonstrating the power of unity, faith, commitment, and courage among its members.

Bray Yomba, CPC chief financial officer and keynote speaker, congratulated Sogeri Town Church on behalf of the Conference. He commended the congregation for embracing the Conference’s emphasis on self-reliance.

“You have set a good example in the Conference,” Yomba said.

Before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Bisiatabu District director Pastor Zebulon Apua delivered a charge to church pastor Minister Dickson Iram and the congregation.

“Take good care of the property; take good care of each other; take good care of God’s mission,” Apua said.

Project chairman Mariori Uwea expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the project through financial support, materials, labour, and prayers.

In presenting the project report, Uwea also acknowledged MRDC as the major sponsor of the project and thanked the organisation for its partnership. A representative from MRDC was unable to attend the ceremony.

The celebration was attended by the CPC chief financial officer, Bisiatabu District director and leaders, local church pastors and senior elders, church members, and other invited guests.

Following the dedication program, attendees shared a traditional āpo mumu and fellowship meal.

With the pastor’s house now completed, Sogeri Town Church has identified the construction of its worship building as its next major project. Church members say they will continue to pursue the project through prayer, unity, and faith.

The congregation expressed gratitude to God for the completion of the pastor’s house and looks forward to continuing its mission in the Sogeri Town community.
