Pastor John Lomacang encouraged Central Papua Conference (CPC) staff to remain united, faithful, and focused on Jesus Christ during a morning worship visit on Thursday, October 8.
Pastor Lomacang, who serves as Director of World Evangelism for the Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), visited the Conference with his wife and shared a message centred on the importance of remaining in God’s church despite challenges and shortcomings in human leadership.
Using the illustration of a boat travelling towards its destination, he urged staff not to abandon the church when difficulties arise.
“Don’t go outside the boat,” he said, encouraging staff to stay together and remain committed to their faith until they reach their destination.
He acknowledged that church leaders may not always lead in the ways members expect. However, he reminded staff that leaders, like everyone else, are human and can make mistakes.
Rather than allowing disappointment to lead to criticism and division, he encouraged the staff to remain prayerful, exercise understanding, and keep their eyes fixed on Jesus Christ.
Drawing attention to Jesus in Hebrew, ‘the author and finisher of our faith’. he reminded staff that their ultimate confidence must rest in Christ.
The worship concluded with a prayer for CPC President Pastor Lonel Winnie, offered on behalf of the entire Conference.
CPC President Pastor Lonel Winnie acknowledged Pastor Lomacang’s ministry and contribution to the Seventh-day Adventist Church through his international evangelistic work. He also expressed appreciation for the time Pastor Lomacang and his wife took to visit the Conference and encourage its staff.
